DATE Saturday 28th October
We are so thrilled to be hosting a Le Labo sensory experience with The Everleigh, bringing together the knowledge and expertise of Melbourne's most exciting perfumier and mixologist. The class will run as a discussion and lecture based on mixing and creating both fragrances and cocktails.
Sueanne from Le Labo will be sharing her knowledge of perfume and Michael from The Everleigh will be creating specialised drinks based on Le Labo fragrances and taking the class through the process of how they were created.
The class will have a chance to experience Le Labo fragrances and to mix their own drinks. Everyone will leave with an understanding of the perfume and drinks mixing process and some very generous gifts. We will be hosting the event in our Northcote warehouse, including a beautiful grazing table of fine cheeses.
Le Labo was born in Grasse, the capital of perfumery located in the French Riviera. It was raised in New York, the city where Eddie Roschi and Fabrice Penot, founders of Le Labo, opened the first Le Labo boutique in February 2006.
We work with a community of craftswomen and craftsmen who contribute to and shape our world: the perfumer, the lab technician, the candle pourer, the rose harvester, ...
The Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi (the art of imperfection) is our main inspiration. Each location is designed as a fragrance lab open to the public where we offer the possibility to smell and touch raw materials to awake the olfactory system.
The core of our collection is our 15 unisex perfumes and 9 soy-based wax candles created by some of the world’s best noses and using the most qualitative ingredients. Le Labo perfumes are freshly handmade to order. It means that the essential oil concentrates remain separate from the alcohol until the moment of purchase. Only then, do the lab technicians proceed to the final formulation of the perfume: oil concentrate + alcohol + water. We also offer personalized labels which makes our creations the perfect gift!
A night at The Everleigh is a unique Melbourne experience. After entering through an American diner, walking down a dim-lit hallway and climbing a few stairs, you are whisked back in time to a bar reminiscent of the golden era, dedicated to classic cocktails and service.
The Everleigh opened its doors on July 4th 2011. It has since been named Gourmet Traveller’s ‘Bar of the Year’ (2013), The Age’s ‘Bar of the Year’ (2012), and both ‘Cocktail Bar of the Year’ (2014), and ‘Bar of the Year’, (2015) by Time Out.
The Everleigh has also placed in the highly coveted ‘World’s 50 Best Bars’ list courtesy of Drinks International in 2013 and 2014.
